Zack Snyder just found a piece of DC Universe history! Fans know have the first photo of Henry Cavill taken during the audition process to play Superman.
For as controversial as the DC Universe was under Zack Snyder, there’s no denying that his take on the characters defined the franchise for an entire generation of fans. Perhaps biggest example of this is Henry Cavill, whose performance as Superman in Man of Steel was so beloved that fans are still calling for him to appear in future projects.
Following the creation of his new Instagram account, Zack Snyder has slowly been going through his photo catalogue to show off images from his take on the DC Universe. This has included fresh looks at heroes such as Ben Affleck’s Batman, Amber Heard’s Mera, and Henry Cavill’s Superman. And while Snyder has shown off some pretty interesting pics, there is one Holy Grail fans have been begging to see posted.
Henry Cavill’s First Image As Superman
Zack Snyder delivered that Holy Grail in a social media post in the late hours of the night. The photo, as stated by the director, is the first picture ever taken of Henry Cavill as Superman. This claim is reinforced by the fact that Cavill is still wearing Reeves’ suit, which was used for multiple actors throughout the audition process for Man of Steel.
Zack Snyder has always had a love for the camera, so it’s not likely that he’ll be running low on treasures from the DC Universe anytime soon. But this photo of Henry Cavill certainly counts as the Crown Jewel of lost media from the production of Man of Steel, proving once again that it’s not the suit that makes someone Superman.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League is currently streaming on Max. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe!
