‘Justice League’ Training Video Teases Zack Snyder’s ‘History Lesson’ Sequence

Justice League Zack Snyder

A new Justice League training video previews Zack Snyder’s “history lesson” sequence that was cut drastically in the theatrical release of the film.

When journalists traveled to the United Kingdom for a Justice Leauge set visit, Zack Snyder teased that the opening of the film would feature a battle featuring the Atlanteans, Amazons, Gods, humans, Green Lanterns and Parademons. Zack Snyder referred to the Justice League opening as the “history lesson” sequence.

When Joss Whedon took over Justice League, the “history lesson” sequence was cut down drastically. The result was Wonder Woman explaining the Mother Boxes to Batman and the notable exclusion of a young Darkseid. While the repurposed “history lesson” sequence in the theatrical version of Justice League is brief, a new training video gives us an idea of how the action in the Zack Snyder version might have played out. You can check out the behind-the-scenes video below.

Here is the official synopsis for Zack Snyder’s Justice League:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
