Warner Bros. reportedly has no interesting in releasing Zack Snyder’s cut of Justice League theatrically or on HBO Max.

Over a week ago, fans who have been campaigning for Warner Bros. to release Zack Snyder’s cut of Justice League were given a glimmer of hope after several stars of the film expressed support for the cause on social media. The sudden surge in support from key people involved with Justice League had some fans speculating that Warner Bros. might be preparing to release the Zack Snyder cut on the upcoming streaming service, HBO Max.

However, Variety reports Warner Bros. is not interested in investing the millions required to complete the visual effects and editing on Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut, especially considering the theatrical version disappointed at the box office. The outlet adds that there are currently no plans to release Zack Snyder’s cut of Justice League in theaters or on HBO Max, with one knowledgable insider reportedly saying:

“That’s a pipe dream. There’s no way it’s ever happening.”

HBO Max is developing multiple DC projects, including a Green Lantern show, a Strange Adventures anthology series, and a DC Super Hero High show from Elizabeth Banks. News of these DC series’ arrived shortly after reports of HBO Max planning to produce DC projects with budgets on par with those of feature films.

HBO Max is currently scheduled to launch commercially in the spring of 2020 with an anticipated 10,000 hours of premium content.

Here is the official synopsis for Zack Snyder’s Justice League:
