Zack Snyder Reveals New Details About Knightmare Superman In His ‘Justice League’ Cut

The director explains what happens when the Man of Steel is defeated by Darkseid.

Justice League director Zack Snyder has revealed new details about about Knightmare Superman in his Justice League cut.

One of the most fascinating scenes in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice saw Zack Snyder briefly explore a world corrupted by Darkseid and the director previously confirmed his Justice League cut will return to that timeline. Snyder also previously revealed that Henry Cavill’s Knightmare Superman succumbed to Darkseid’s infamous Anti-Life Equation and that’s why he’s turned into an evil version of himself.

A fan on Vero recently asked Zack Snyder why the Knightmare Superman dresses in the classic red and blue costume rather than the black suit. It’s a fair question since the black look would fit the new dark timeline. The director explained that when the Man of Steel is corrupted by the Anti-Life Equation, he returns to the red and blue. It’s not yet clear why the Knightmare Superman does this, but hopefully we’ll find out next year. Take a look at the director discussing the costume below.
