Zack Snyder keeps sharing his BTS goodies! Fans now have an as-of-yet unseen photo of Amber Heard as Mera in his cut of Justice League.
It’s clear that Zack Snyder had plans for a lot of characters to play bigger roles in his Justice League trilogy than they ended up getting in the only film that came to light. From Deathstroke, to John Stewart, and even Ryan Choi. However, the only one of these shafted characters to actually get a substantial amount of screen time was Amber Heard’s Mera.
Amber Heard played a major role in the first Aquaman movie. Not only was Mera the Queen of Atlantis, but she threw hands alongside Jason Momoa’s hero throughout the entire film. While she didn’t get much screen time in Justice League, Zack Snyder did notably include her in the ending Knightmare sequence, suggesting she may have taken up the mantle as the franchise’s leading Atlantean.
Mera’s Queenly Look In Justice League
Zack Snyder has been posting a lot of BTS content from his Justice League shoot over the past few weeks. Fans have gotten new looks at Jared Leto’s Joker, Ben Affleck’s Batman, and Henry Cavill’s Superman. Now it’s Mera’s turn, with the director revealing a never-before-seen look at Amber Heard in her regalia for the character.

Currently, there don’t seem to be plans to revive Zack Snyder’s vision of Justice League; be it animated, live-action, or even in a comic. As such, it’s likely that fans will never find out the director’s true plans for Amber Heard’s Mera in the franchise. But with pictures like this, it’s certainly enough to keep the imagination stirring.
