Zack Snyder Has Perfect Response To Infamous ‘Man of Steel’ Pod Design

Superman Henry Cavill Zack Snyder Man of Steel

Man of Steel director Zack Snyder recently gave a hilarious response to the interesting observation that some fans had regarding Kryptionian pods at the beginning of the film.

When Man of Steel opened in 2013, it was polarizing amongst moviegoers but one thing that everyone seemed to agree on was that those Phantom Zone pods looked eerily similar to a certain male appendage. When General Zod (Michael Shannon) is being sent to the Phantom Zone for his crimes against Krypton, shortly before the planet comes to an end, he and his cohorts are put into stasis within individual pods.

Five and a half years later, a fan has finally asked Zack Snyder about the intentions behind the imagery and another infamous DC Extended Universe question. The other question regards early promotional material for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice that included Aquaman (Jason Momoa). Check out Snyder’s perfect response to the inquiry below.

“Unite the Seven” was presented with the first-ever reveal of Momoa’s Aquaman and it was thought by many fans to be the beginning of a whole marketing campaign revealing the Justice League members. That poster was the only piece of Batman v Superman marketing with that tagline, so it was assumed that it was just a one-off tease for Aquaman that would subtly set-up his storyline for the Justice League movie, which was heavily edited and re-shot before it hit theaters so it isn’t totally clear if that was ever the case. Zack Snyder did share some insight on the subject though and his reveal that it was also a mention to the amount of League members brings up another question: who was the seventh member?

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding the DC Extended Universe as soon as more information becomes available. Are you a fan of Man of Steel? Who do you think the seventh Justice League member was supposed to be? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
