10 Things We Expect & Want Announced At Comic-Con 2016

San Diego Comic-Con

1: Luke Cage Pilot Screening

Andy Behbakht: This is the first time that Marvel Television and Netflix has brought one of their shared series to San Diego Comic-Con as we are used to only having the great ABC shows (now only Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as Agent Carter was sadly cancelled this year) so this is welcomed. Given that New York Comic-Con got a pilot screening of Jessica Jones last year, it would be a shame if they didn’t screen the Luke Cage pilot at Comic-Con. I think having a panel for a show that has yet to come out is always tricky because you can’t really say much without spoiling big things and a 2-minute trailer will probably only make that a little easier, but not by much. So if I were in charge, I would screen the first episode of Luke Cage to the audience and have the cast and crew talk about it afterwards and have a brief Q&A as well. I would also reveal a Luke Cage trailer too for the people that can’t make it to Comic-Con because September 30 isn’t that far away.

Christian Stoic: The Marvel Netflix shows have proven themselves to be extremely well thought out and produced with Jessica Jones and Daredevil being extremely successful. We know that Luke Cage, who got his start on Jessica Jones will have his own series premiering at the end of September and fans, including myself, are excited to see something other than the short teaser that was released earlier this year alongside the second season of Daredevil. It would be great if Marvel brought the plot to SDCC. Pilot screenings at SDCC have gone over well in the past and if Luke Cage is as good as the other Netflix/ Marvel shows, then it can only help gain word of mouth and possibly be another hit for them. Whether or not this pilot will be premiered there, it is still something that I look forward to happening.

San Diego Comic-Con will be held between Thursday, July 21 to Sunday, July 24, along with Preview Night on Wednesday, July 20. Are you going to Comic-Con? What things do you hope and want to get announced and revealed next week? Let us know in the comments below!
