Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse featured dozens of cameos that made fans perk up in their seats, including appearances by Josh Keaton’s Spectacular Spider-Man and Yuri Lowenthal’s Spider-Man. However, perhaps the most shocking cameo wasn’t even a Spider-Person, but instead an appearance of Donald Glover as the Prowler.

Donald Glover has had a massive influence on the Miles Morales version of Spider-Man. In fact, Miles was originally born from a scene in Community where Glover wore a Spider-Man shirt. He also voiced the character in the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon. While a bit old to every portray the character in live- action, Glover did make a small cameo as Miles’ uncle Aaron Davis in Spider-Man: Homecoming, though never suited up as the Prowler. This was rectified in Across the Spider-Verse where Glover made a quick cameo as the Prowler in a brand new suit. Full images of the suit can be seen below:

With Donald Glover now attached to Sony’s Hypno Hustler project, it’s unlikely he’ll be seen as the Prowler anywhere else besides Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. However, even such a quick cameo means the world to many fans inspired by the character of Miles Morales that Glover, unintentionally, helped birth.
