‘Agatha: Coven of Chaos’ Directing Team & New Cast Members Revealed

Marvel’s Agatha: Coven of Chaos is heading into production.

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Agatha: Coven of Chaos is to begin filming this week, with head writer and executive producer Jac Schaeffer directing multiple episodes of the Marvel Studios series. Gandja Monteiro (Wednesday) and Rachel Goldberg (A Friend of the Family) are also on board as directors.

With filming about to kick off, Agatha: Coven of Chaos has added WandaVision actors David Payton, David Lengel, Asif Ali, Amos Glick, Brian Brightman and Kate Forbes to its call sheet. Marvel Cinematic Universe newcomers Miles Gutierrez-Riley and Okwui Okpokwasili have also joined the star-studded cast of the series.

Who else is attached to Agatha: Coven of Chaos?

Coven of Chaos is a WandaVision spin-off series that revolves around Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness. The series is being developed by Jac Schaefer, the head scribe and executive producer of WandaVision and one of the writers behind 2019’s Captain Marvel and 2021’s Black WidowAnother spin-off series focusing on The Vision is currently in the works at Marvel Studios.

In addition to Kathryn Hahn, Agatha: Coven of Chaos also features Joe Locke, Aubrey Plaza, Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, Sasheer Zamata, Debra Jo Rupp and Emma Caulfield. Most of the cast members are playing new Marvel Cinenatic Universe characters, but Caulfield is reprising her WandaVision role as Westview resident Dottie Jones, a.k.a. Sarah Proctor.

Agatha: Coven of Chaos is believed to be using the working title “My Pretty.” According to insiders, Coven of Chaos consists of nine episodes, with the first one debuting in late 2023 or early 2024 on the Disney Plus streaming service.
