Andrew Garfield opened up about how he decided to return for Spider-Man: No Way Home.

One of the most exciting components of Spider-Man: No Way Home was seeing Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire return as their respective Peter Parkers. It’s a miracle that both Garfield and Maguire opted to return for Tom Holland’s threequel, which is currently on track to gross over $1.7 billion at the global box office. A lot could have gone wrong in bringing the trio together, and in a recent interview with Deadline’s Pete Hammond, which saw all three stars talking about the film for the first time, Garfield revealed what influenced his decision to return.

Both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield were individually pitched their returns but when it came time to make a decision, Garfield was reliant on Maguire’s choice. Telling Hammond, Garfield revealed that he would only return if Maguire was ready to step back into his costume.

‘I was just waiting to see if Tobey was going to do it, and if Tobey was going to do it, then I was like, “Well, I have no choice,” you know? I follow Tobey to the ends of the Earth. I’m a lemming for Tobey.”

Audiences around the world are grateful that Tobey Maguire opted to return for Spider-Man: No Way Home. Maguire discussed his return as Peter Parker in the same interview, which can be seen here.

Here is the synopsis  Spider-Man: No Way Home:
