It seems not all rumors can be trusted! A new report suggests Andy Muschietti is still attached for the DC Universe’s Batman: The Brave and The Bold reboot despite recent reports that he was axed.

News about Batman: The Brave and The Bold has been slow. Understandably so, given the DC Universe has multiple projects coming out sooner. However, some have worried this is a sign of trouble with the reboot. This led many to latch onto the rumor that director Andy Muschietti had been let go from the project after a report by The Hot Mic host John Rocha. However, it seems the newest scoop from Jeff Sneider has refutted that claim, with Muschietti still being on.

Even outside the world of insiders and scoopers, there’s plenty of evidence Andy Muschietti hasn’t been fired from Batman: The Brave and The Bold. It was recently shown that the director has his own parking space at the DC Studios lot, complete with a Batman golf cart.

While many worry that Andy Muschietti’s involvement with Batman: The Brave and The Bold could lead it to turn out like The Flash, it doesn’t seem writer Christina Hodson is joining him this time around, likely meaning he’ll have a new writer for the DC Universe reboot. With a better story in his hands, here’s to hoping Muschietti doesn’t need to use too much CGI!

The future of the DC Universe

James Gunn and Peter Safran told journalists that their vision for the DC Universe includes locked scripts, wiggle room, and a unified storyline across film, television, animation, and video game projects. The two explained that the DC Universe could bring back elements from previous DC regimes, meaning that their eight-to-year plan is not a full reboot.

Shazam! Fury of the GodsThe FlashBlue Beetle, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom have all been released following the announcement of the new DC Universe, all four projects struggling at the box office. Will the characters from those movies make appearances in the new DCU? Only Gunn and Safran know.

Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe after Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom!
