MODOK joins the MCU in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and new merchandise for the movie offers a first look at the character’s live-action redesign.
The upcoming third installment in Marvel’s Ant-Man franchise will welcome some major villains to the MCU. It will mark the debut of Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror and will see MODOK – the Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing – make his first live-action appearance.
While fans who attended Marvel’s San Diego Comic-Con panel in July got a brief look at MODOK in the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania trailer, a new merchandise image reveals a better look at the supervillain.
MODOK’s MCU Look
An image of an Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania t-shirt has surfaced online, revealing the film’s new masked look for MODOK.
MODOK has always looked a little strange and it looks like his MCU design hues close to his comic-book look, albeit with the addition of a mask covering his oversized face. Whether the mask will prove a permanent feature or not is yet to be seen.

It’s not yet clear what MODOK’s role will be in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, though he will serve as a secondary antagonist to Jonathan Majors’ Kang.
In the comics, MODOK’s true identity was George Tarleton, an AIM scientist, but rumors suggest Corey Stoll’s Darren Cross from 2015’s Ant-Man may be the MCU’s MODOK. If so, then the character’s mask might simply be a way to preserve the revelation of his true identity.
