Anthony Mackie has officially signed on to headline the fourth Captain America film.
After the explosive finale of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, it was revealed that series scribe Malcolm Spellman would write the upcoming fourth Captain America film. A few days later Anthony Mackie revealed that he heard the news of him getting his own Cap film at a grocery store and now he’s officially signed on to don the red, white and blue once again. According to Deadline, Mackie recently closed a deal to return for the currently untitled Captain America sequel.
Marvel Studios has yet to sign a director and there isn’t any word on if Sebastian Stan will reprise his Bucky Barnes role in the sequel. Along with Captain America 4, there is another top secret project that is set to bring Chris Evan’s back as Steve Rogers. That project was debunked by Kevin Feige and Chris Evans but stranger things have happened in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
