Fans have been eagerly awaiting any news on Creature Commandos, which is the first project set in the upcoming rebooted DC Universe by James Gunn and Peter Safran. A new rumor seems to indicate The Witcher star Anya Chalotra will play an iconic Wonder Woman villain in the project.
Anya Chalotra is an actress best known for her role as Yennefer in Netflix’s The Witcher. According to an update on her Spotlight page, Chalotra has been cast in the upcoming Creature Commandos series. Specifically, she’ll be playing the Wonder Woman villain Circe. The report was then backed up by fans who checked the Chalotra’s resume, revealing she did do voice work for the DC Universe project.
If this rumor is true, it’s likely Anya Chalotra won’t only appear in Creature Commandos. DC Universe co-chair James Gunn has stressed his desire to keep actors consistent across live-action and animation, meaning that Chalotra would likely appear as Circe if the character ever starred in a Wonder Woman project. Though given Wonder Woman’s shaky place in the DC Universe, when that would be is up in the air.

Creature Commandos is an upcoming animated series set to debut in 2024 for James Gunn and Peter Safran’s brand-new DC Universe. The show is set to feature the return of Sean Gunn’s Weasel from The Suicide Squad as Amanda Waller seeks to build a militia of monsters and outcasts. All 7 episodes for the show’s first season were written by Gunn.
Joining Sean Gunn’s Weasel in Creature Commandos is Frank Grillo as Rick Flagg Sr., the father of Joel Kinnaman’s Rick Flagg, as well as Maria Bakalova as Princess Ilana Rostovic, Indira Varma as The Bride, Zoe Chao as Nina Mazursky, Alan Tudyk as Dr. Phosphorus, and David Harbour as Eric Frankenstein. Sean Gunn will also be taking on the role of G.I. Robot in the series and will be joined by fellow The Suicide Squad alum Steve Agee, who is set to return as John Economos.
