Will the marketing finally begin?

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is set to release in just a few short months. The first look at new figures for the upcoming DC Universe film has been revealed.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting any news about Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, as the first official trailer for the movie has yet to hit the web. It seems as though marketing for the DC Studios movie is set to begin shortly, with new figures showing off the designs of Arthur Curry, Mera, Black Manta, and Orm in the new DC Universe:

Despite some considering this a sign Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom won’t be delayed, it was already confirmed last month that the DC Studios sequel would maintain its December release date amid the WGA/SAG-AFTRA strikes. Though given the recent string of DC Universe flops, it’s more likely than not Warner Bros. can’t afford to delay the marketing for the film, as little of it there’s been.

The future of the DC Universe

James Gunn and Peter Safran told journalists that their vision for the DC Universe includes locked scripts, wiggle room, and a unified storyline across film, television, animation, and video game projects. The two explained that the DC Universe could bring back elements from previous DC regimes, meaning that their eight-to-year plan is not a full reboot.

Shazam! Fury of the GodsThe Flash, and Blue Beetle have all been released following the announcement of the new DC Universe, with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom still slated to hit theaters in 2023. Will the characters from those movies make appearances in the new DCU? Only Gunn and Safran know.
