Ariana Greenblatt recently made her Star Wars debut as a younger version of Ahsoka Tano. The Ahsoka star revealed how she prepared for the role with Rosario Dawson.
Ahsoka was a true celebration of the life and history of Ahsoka Tano, with Rosario Dawson nailing her performance as an older version of the Jedi and Arian Greenblatt portraying the younger padawan. According to Greenblatt, her preparation involved a lot of watching Star Wars: The Clone Wars and reviewing Dawson’s own performance.
“I watched a ton of Clone Wars episodes,” Greenblatt explains. “I mean, when I was getting ready for rehearsal and all of that, it was just always on in the background.”
“The little plot twist in this episode is yes, although I am playing 13/17-year-old Ahsoka, Ahsoka is still Rosario’s Ahsoka mentally. So I had to combine the characteristics and combine how Rosario talks, I visited Rosario on set and I kind of just got to watch her work and observe how she would walk and talk, and everything Ahsoka.”
“I just, like, soaked up all of her body language because I really, really, really wanted to do it right.”
It’s currently unclear whether or not Ariana Greenblatt will ever return as a younger Ahsoka Tano in a future Star Wars project. Many fans speculate she may reappear alongside Rosario Dawson in season 2 of Ahsoka or in a different flashback to The Clone Wars. Regardless, it seems every fan can agree she nailed her performance!
