Will the X-Men finally done their iconic suits? The rumor teases the team’s wardrobe in Avengers: Doomsday and future projects set in the MCU.
One of the most exciting pieces of news to come out of the MCU in recent years was the announcement that much of the original X-Men cast would be reprising their roles in Avengers: Doomsday. Many saw this as an opportunity to correct many of the missed opportunities from the original franchise, including but not limited to their choice of suits.
And it seems the MCU is giving those fans exactly what they want. A rumor from longtime insider DanielRPK revealed that the X-Men will be donning their comic-accurate suits in Avengers: Doomsday. While it’s not clear exactly which incarnation of the suits they’ll wear in the film, one could bet dollars to donuts it’ll be reminiscent of the iconic blue and yellow.
Will The X-Men Return In The MCU?
Another assumption many people have about the role of the X-Men in Avengers: Doomsday is that the project will be the team’s victory lap. One final outing with the original cast before the MCU reboots the franchise for a new generation. However, that may not exactly be true, as an additional rumor from DanielRPK suggests that the team will return for Avengers: Secret Wars.
It’s not likely this incarnation of the X-Men will last in the MCU beyond that. Most likely Avengers: Doomsday will serve as the Last Stand (pun intended) for many of these actors, with a select few like Sir Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman surviving into Avengers: Secret Wars. However, at the very least they’ll have one meaty send-off on the big screen.
