Avengers: Doomsday is almost ready to start filming! Key members of the X-Men and MCU have posted suggesting they’re on their way to film scenes.
Fans have been on the edge of their seats these past few weeks with Avengers: Doomsday. The project is set to be one of the biggest in the entire MCU, with production starting on the day it was announced that the X-Men would be joining the cast. However, despite getting some really cool set photos, filming for the movie has yet to start in earnest.
That is, until now. Alan Cumming, who recently posted about his excitement to be joining the MCU as Nightcrawler in Avengers: Doomsday, posted a few images that piqued the attention of fans. The first was him training for what is clearly an action heavy role. The second is him reuniting with fellow X-Men star Sir Ian McKellen, who played Magneto in the original series of films and is set to reprise his role in Avengers: Doomsday.
Captain America Joins Avengers: Doomsday
Yet the X-Men aren’t the only actors preparing to film for Avengers: Doomsday. MCU mainstay Anthony Mackie is set to reprise his role as Captain America in the upcoming film. While he’s yet to be seen in London, he did recently post on his Instagram story with the words “And so it begins…”. While not confirmed, many believe this to be a tease that filming for the project will be starting up in the coming days.

Given the speculation around the set photos from Avengers: Doomsday, it’s likely that filming may be kicked off with the meeting of Captain America and the X-Men. This would certainly be an Earth-shattering way to kick off the MCU’s biggest crossover, especially given the recent reputation of the franchise. Though whatever scene they’re filming, the truth will likely be coming soon.
