Is Avengers: Doomsday still being written? The latest rumors that the script isn’t quite done yet, but Marvel may have a very good reason for it!
Marvel has gotten a lot of critiques over the years, from acting to VFX work, to even having an inconsistent canon. However, perhaps the most prevalent one over the past few years boils down to the writing. Specifically, that the script of most films in the MCU don’t feel finished, or were padded out and changed at the last second. A pattern many fans were worried might be repeating for Avengers: Doomsday.
These fears may be founded. The latest rumor from scooper MyTimeToShineHello reveals that Avengers: Doomsday does have a “finished” script, but it’s far from being done. However, Marvel plans to continually rewrite the script every day during production to try to make it the best it can be, mirroring many critiques fans have had in the past about some of the most controversial MCU films.
Why Isn’t The Avengers: Doomsday Script Done?
Yet the modern day Marvel Method may not be the only reason that the script for Avengers: Doomsday isn’t finished. Co-host of The Hot Mic John Rocha corroborated this rumor, but added some additional information. According to the insider, the reason for the script being in flux isn’t necessarily a story one, but rather is due to them not having contracts finalized for every actor they want to appear in the film.
This tactic has been used by Marvel in multiple films as well, most notably in Captain America: Civil War to include Spider-Man at the eleventh hour. At this time, it’s unclear if Avengers: Doomsday will benefit from this tactic, or if it’ll ultimately harm what may be the Multiverse Saga’s last chance to leave an impact with audiences. Though with just over a year to go, it’s likely the answer will be revealed sooner than later.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters in May 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
