The MCU shall fall before doom! An official set photo from Avengers: Doomsday teases fans about the arrival of what may be the franchise’s biggest villain yet!
With filming on Avengers: Doomsday officially kicking off this past Monday, fans have had their eyes glued to the internet for any set photo they might be able to glimpse. Early looks at the MCU’s upcoming crossover have been promising, with many believing the destruction seen in these snapshots was caused none other than Latveria’s number one villain: Doctor Doom.
Though despite Doctor Doom being one of the main selling points of Avengers: Doomsday, fans have rather sparse information about what he’ll look like and what his role will be in the finale to the MCU’s multiverse saga. While it’s sure Marvel plans to keep the specifics close to their chest, it didn’t stop The Russo Brothers dropping a set photo teasing the arrival of Victor Von Doom on set!
Doctor Doom’s Role In Avengers: Doomsday
One may think a chair reading Victor Von Doom wouldn’t be able to tell fans much about his role in Avengers: Doomsday. However, this set photo does potentially reveal a key scene that Doctor Doom will appear in toward the start of production. The first major set built for the MCU film appeared to be on a campus. And while it’s not confirmed where that campus is (Though we have our guesses), this chair being put out alongside that set’s construction suggests the villain may make his appearance in the scene.
This is backed up by the set photo of Doctor Doom’s chair itself. One can see distinct wood paneling, not just on the floor, but the walls. These haven’t been seen much within the MCU, and doesn’t exactly match Latveria’s aesthetic. However, it does line up with many interpretation with Charles Xavier’s School for Gifted Children. This could mean that one of the first scenes filmed for Avengers: Doomsday is his siege on the school!
Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters in May 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
