Are the Sentinels set to play a key role in Avengers: Doomsday? A rumor from a new leaker suggests that they may be more integral than fans think.
Surprisingly, especially given how busy the rumor mill has been, very few things have been officially confirmed as “leaks” for Avengers: Doomsday. The one exception was the series of photos taken at a school set in Europe, which all but confirmed that the Sentinels will be playing some sort of role in the long-awaited film.
Yet despite being one of the few concrete details fans have about Avengers: Doomsday, the rumor mill has been shockingly quiet about the role that Sentinels will play in the film. That is, until a new leaker James Mack appeared to reveal some new details about their involvement in the story, hinting that they may be under the control of Doctor Doom.
“Yes, Doom will have the ability to control machines/robots through runes, taking command of the X-universe Sentinels. In several concept sketches, the Sentinels are shown with green runes across their bodies!”
Does Doctor Doom Control The Sentinels?
While it’s important to take every rumor with a grain of salt, this one with the Sentinels should be taken like the Dead Sea. Unlike most scoopers, who at least have a track record with some correct information, James Mack only started posting scoops about Avengers: Doomsday back in May, and has no proof of any inside connection beyond speculation.
There are also plenty of other reasons that Sentinels could be in Avengers: Doomsday aside from working with Doctor Doom. It’s possible that they serve as villains of a cold open to the introduce fans to the powers of the X-Men, or they could simply be set dressing for a war-torn Earth. Though, given how specific this rumor is, it’ll likely be confirmed true or false whenever fans get their first look at the Sentinels.
