Is the MCU being destroyed by more than just critics? A new set photo from Avengers: Doomsday teases that major damage may already be headed to the universe.
Production on Avengers: Doomsday is officially ramping up. And, just like every other project in the MCU and DC Universe, that means set photos are going to start flooding the net. In truth, that was likely the reason behind Marvel’s massive cast chair stunt. As filming starts up, these surprising actors will be at the forefront, leading to their involvement getting spoiled sooner rather than later.
Yet before any actor has the chance to step onto the set, it needs to be constructed. This construction has resulted in what may be the oddest set photo from any MCU production so far. Fresh from user UnBoxPHD on social media, it seems as though Marvel is constructing a massive crater on the set of Avengers: Doomsday. While it’s hard to tell the exact scale, a rough estimate suggests that it is a very, very big hole.

Avengers: Doomsday Set Photo Explained
Many fans assume this set photo is actually the first look at the Incursions. Teased in multiple prior MCU projects such as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, incursions are the idea of multiple universes colliding together, ultimately destroying one another. While it’s usually done in one massive motion, it’s possible that Avengers: Doomsday has large chunks of certain universes falling through rifts and causing destruction.
Then again, it’s possible there’s another explanation for this set photo. It’s possible that this could show the arrival of Doctor Doom (or another key variant) in the main timeline of the MCU. It’s also possible Marvel is setting up to film a climactic fight scene first while all of the actors are available. But given filming is right around the corner, it’s likely fans will find out the truth about the Avengers: Doomsday crater sooner rather than later.
