A Marvel fan spotted a visual parallel to Back to the Future Part II in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame.

In Universal’s Back to the Future Part II, Marty McFly finds himself traveling to the year 2015 with Doc Brown on a mission to prevent his son from making a life-altering mistake. While exploring his hometown in the future, McFly spots a marquee promoting a fictional 19th installment of the Jaws franchise and the Back to the Future hero is briefly fooled into believing he’s being attacked by a holographic shark.

In Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame, the surviving heroes of Infinity War travel back in time to retrieve the Infinity Stones in hopes of using them to reverse Thanos’ decimation and the similarities between the time heist and the Back to the Future franchise did not go unnoticed by the team. Now, a Marvel fan has spotted a visual reference to the aforementioned Back to the Future Part II during the final showdown, where Rocket Raccoon can be seen almost being consumed by a Levthian seconds before the beast in erased from existence by Tony Stark.
