A new Avengers: Endgame theory suggests that the film could sneakily be setting up a Secret Invasion movie.
Avengers: Endgame hits theaters in April but in March, Captain Marvel arrives on the big screen. The story of both films take place decades apart from each other but the post-credits scene for Avengers: Infinity War established that Carol Danvers would be arriving to help out in Avengers: Endgame. In Captain Marvel, the titular hero will be battling an alien race of shapeshifters known as the Skrulls.
The Skrulls were the main focus of one particularly iconic Marvel story called Secret Invasion. The story ran for eight issues in 2008 and involved the Skrulls replacing a number of beloved Marvel heroes to enact their evil plan by conducting, as the title suggests, a secret invasion on Earth. It’s a story that many Marvel fans have been wanting to see on the big screen for years and a new theory on Reddit from user C_Kern suggests that Avengers: Endgame could be setting up the Marvel Cinematic Universe for such an event. Check out the interesting theory in the post below.
The one aspect of this theory that doesn’t quite work is the idea that the moment with Carol being hung upside down is a post-credits scene. The clip played for audiences who attended CCXP, so it’s presumably not the post-credits scene for Captain Marvel, but that doesn’t mean this whole theory is completely off base. Also, Marvel Studios seems to enjoy playing with fan expectations, so it’s possible that the scene could appear after the credits but given the description from the event, it sounds unlikely.
Given the secrecy surrounding the upcoming MCU slate, any theory seems possible at this point. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Avengers: Endgame as soon as more information becomes available. Do you think this theory is possible? A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.

After the mid-credits scene for Ant-Man and the Wasp, many were theorizing that the Avengers would have to rescue Scott Lang from the Quantum Realm and subsequently use the alternate dimension to travel back in time to defeat Thanos. While it appears Scott Lang managed to escape on his own, he may have brought the van containing the way to the Quantum Realm to the Avengers’ front door.

While the Hulk was absent from the first Avengers: Endgame trailer, Bruce Banner managed to make a brief appearance. The brilliant scientist could be seen assessing the list of casualties of Thanos’ decimation and it has clearly taken an emotional toll.
