When Falcon shows up to assist Scarlet Witch against the Black Order, Sam Wilson’s outfit in Avengers: Infinity War is not all that different compared to what he wore in Captain America: Civil War. But given how frequently the various MCU character costumes change from film to film, a bit of consistency between movies is appreciated. However, it turns out that what we saw of Falcon in the final product wasn’t the original design.
Even during the battle with the Black Order and Thanos in Wakanda Falcon looks pretty much the same. Recently though, Josh Nizzi, a concept artist who has worked on various Marvel Studios projects, shared a photo on his Instagram account of some unused concept art for Falcon. This design showcases a much sleeker design with much sharper looking wing blades, similar to what Sam Wilson has worn both on the page and prior adaptations.

If you recall, Sam Wilson was one of the victims of Thanos’ snapping half of humanity out of existence in the climax of Avengers: Infinity War. It’s a given that he’ll return- more so since he’s reportedly set to have a Disney+ series with the Winter Soldier, but perhaps he’ll have a new design when he’s ultimately brought back in Avengers: Endgame.
