‘Avengers: Endgame’ Writers Think The ‘X-Men’ Should ‘Rest For A Second’

Avengers: Endgame writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely revealed that they believe the X-Men franchise should take a break for now.

After Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox’s officially closed, fans immediately began wondering when Marvel Studios’ would unveil plans for the X-Men now that they obtained the screen rights to characters. While Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed X-Men films were being developed as part of the post-Avengers: Endgame plan for the MCU during San Diego Comic-Con, a project centered on the mutants was not included in the phase 4 lineup.

It appears Marvel Studios’ plans to wait some time before introducing to X-Men to the MCU and Avengers: Endgame writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely told Collider that they believe the franchise should “rest for a second.” However, the screenwriting duo added that they would love to see a Silver Surfer movie sooner than later and that such a project should go full-on cosmic.

Avengers: Endgame will be available on Digital HD starting July 30 followed by a 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD release on August 13.
