Avengers star Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed the origins regarding her much talked about vagina candle.
Earlier this month, Avengers star Gwyneth Paltrow shocked the internet and Marvel fans with the release of a candle that supposedly mimicked the smell of her private parts. Released under Gwyneth Paltrow’s controversial lifestyle brand Goop, the candle was titled “This Smells Like My Vagina” and was sold for $75. Since then, the Gwyneth Paltrow backed candle has been sold-out.
Appearing on Late Night With Seth Meyers to promote an upcoming Netflix series focusing on the Avengers star’s lifestyle brand, Gwyneth Paltrow revealed the hilarious and odd origins for the candle. In her appearance, Avengers star Gwyneth Paltrow was asked by Seth Meyers to explicitly reveal step-by-step how the product was named.
“So, it sort of started as a joke. I was with the nose Douglas Little for his brand, Heretic, and we were kind of messing around and I smelled this beautiful thing, and I was like, ‘This smells like my vagina.’ I was kidding, obviously. So, then it actually became kind of a funny thing where it was A) Really funny to us, but also a little bit punk rock. You know what I mean? I think women, a lot of us have grown up feeling certain degrees of shame around our body or whatever. So this is just a little bit of, you know, subversive candle for all of us out there.”
Well, Avengers star Gwyneth Paltrow was able to completely dominate the internet as her candle took the web by storm. Reception towards the Avengers star’s candle has been mixed, with many praising Gwyneth Paltrow for creating a brutally honest product that seems to be making a positive impact. On the other hand, many find this to be another gimmicky product that is merely banking on the name-recognition that a star like Gwyneth Paltrow is able to bring to the table. Regardless, the Avengers star’s candle is sold out, scenting hundreds of household with the intimate aroma.
