Avengers star Robert Downey Jr. confirms the end of his Marvel career.
If it wasn’t clear at the end of Avengers: Endgame– Robert Downey Jr. is officially done with the role of Iron Man. During an episode of the Smartless Podcast, the Avengers star was asked how he was balancing family life and Marvel after Iron Man’s demise and he had this to say:
That’s all done.
This should certainly be disheartening to some, but there is some good news to cheer Iron Man fans up. While Downey Jr. is done with the role on the big screen, he’s rumored to lend his voice to Marvel Studios’ upcoming animated Disney Plus series What If…? and is also rumored to make an appearance in the upcoming Black Widow solo film via a deleted scene from Captain America: Civil War.
