Bill Murray has joined the cast of Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania for a role that has yet to be revealed.

Since the first Ant-Man was released back in 2015, the characters and films have all been pleasant additions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Ant-Man and Ant-Man and The Wasp were both well received by critics and modest box-office successes by the MCU’s standards. The franchise’s latest addition, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is currently set to be released in 2023 but little is known about the upcoming film.

The first major news to come out from Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania was that Jonathan Majors had been cast as Kang The Conquerer. Majors himself eventually confirmed this to be the case but made his debut as the Marvel villain on the Disney Plus show, Loki, and has been coy about how big of a role he will have in the film. Now it appears that the film added another big talent to its roster.

In a recent interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Ghostbusters star Bill Murray revealed that he was involved with Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania. Specifically, the actor praised director Peyton Reed and his work on the 2000 cheerleader film, Bring It On:

“You know, recently I made a Marvel movie. I probably won’t tell you, but never mind. In any case, some people were quite surprised why I decided on such a project. But for me the thing was quite clear: I got to know the director – and really liked him very much. He was funny, humble, everything you want from a director. And with the cheerleader story Bring It On he made a movie years ago, which I think is damn good. So I agreed, although I’m not interested in these huge comic book adaptations as an actor otherwise.”

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will hit theaters on February 17, 2023. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the film and Bill Murray’s involvement in the film and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
