Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has officially confirmed that Black Panther 2 is officially on the slate for the Marvel Cinematic Universe during a presentation at the D23 Expo. The film is set to hit theaters on May 6, 2022.
Ryan Coogler will return to write and direct Black Panther 2, whose predecessor became a cultural phenomenon in its own right and received multiple Academy Award nominations including Best Picture. Black Panther 2 is expected to have returning cast members Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright and Martin Freeman reprising their respective roles.
Black Panther 2 was not officially announced as part of the MCU Phase 4 slate during their San Diego Comic-Con panel in Hall H back in July, but Feige teased more news regarding its status would be on the way. Now that we have official word, fans couldn’t be more excited to return to Wakanda – especially with a brilliant storyteller/filmmaker like Coogler coming back.
