‘Blue Beetle’ Director Shares Set Photos As Filming Wraps In Puerto Rico

Angel Manuel Soto, director of DC’s Blue Beetle, has shared a selection of images from the film’s Puerto Rico set as filming wraps.

Blue Beetle will be the first superhero movie to feature a Latinx hero. The film will tell the story of the Jaime Reyes version of the DC character, who will be played by Xolo Maridueña. Raoul Trujillo has also been cast in the DC movie, reportedly playing Blue Beetle enemy Carapax the Indestructible Man.

Blue Beetle is set for release in August next year and Angel Manuel Soto’s latest post from the film’s set confirms it is nearing completion.

That’s A Wrap On ‘Blue Beetle’

Taking to Instagram to mark the end of filming in Puerto Rico, Angel Manuel Soto shared a selection of images from the film’s set.

Little is given away by the photos shared by Blue Beetle‘s director, though they do offer a clear look at the film’s logo as featured on a clapperboard. The images also offer a look at the film’s director with members of the cast and crew.

Blue Beetle was originally set to release exclusively on HBO Max, but is now gearing up for a theatrical release next year, Warner Bros. recently confirmed. With production wrapping, it is now only a matter of time until fans can expect to see more promotional material for the upcoming DC movie.

Directed by Angel Manuel Soto with a script from Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer the film stars Xolo Maridueña, Susan Sarandon, Raoul Trujillo, Bruna Marquezine, Belissa Escobedo and Harvey Guillén. The film is being produced by John Rickard with Zev Foreman, Walter Hamada and David Siegel serving as executive producers.
