Bryce Dallas Howard recently talked about the possibility of directing a Star Wars film after helming episodes of The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.

Bryce Dallas Howard has helmed three episodes of Star Wars television so far. For The Mandalorian, she directed “The Sanctuary” in season one and “The Heiress” in season two. Howard then returned to helm “Return of the Mandalorian” in The Book of Boba Fett.

Howard’s impressive work on The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett has led to many Star Wars fans wanting to see her direct a feature film next. There are a few Star Wars films in development at the moment with directors Patty Jenkins and Taika Waititi, but perhaps Howard will find herself in that group in the future. Her father also notably stepped in to direct Solo: A Star Wars Story after Phil Lord and Chris Miller exited the project during production. While promoting Jurassic World Dominion, the question of directing a film was recently proposed to Howard in an interview with Gizmodo:

“Oh, my goodness. I think it would take someone asking me.”

Howard also talked about her Book of Boba Fett episode being solely focused on Din Djarin:

“Oh, no. I mean, I absolutely loved that. [Producers] Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have been incredibly inclusive since the beginning. And so it’s something that they had talked about doing. And it was just so… it was great. I love Mando.”

Here is the synopsis for the Star Wars series:

The Book of Boba Fett, a thrilling Star Wars adventure, finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the Galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.

Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Robert Rodriguez, and Kathleen Kennedy are all executive producers on The Mandalorian spin-off with episodes directed by Rodriguez, Favreau, Filoni, and Bryce Dallas Howard. The series stars Temuera Morrison, Ming-Na Wen, and Jennifer Beals.
