They are made of the same stuff but are different.

Star Wars actor Temuera Morrison recently broke down the major differences between Boba Fett and his father Jango Fett.

Nearly 20 years ago, Temuera Morrison first appeared in the Star Wars universe. Specifically, he appeared as the character Jango Fett in Star Wars: Episode II- Attack of the Clones. In the film, Jango was the genetic donor for a clone army that was eventually used against the Separatists and the main force of the Republic during the war. In addition, the character was revealed to be the father of Boba Fett who, himself, was an unaltered clone of the man.

During the film’s climactic battle, Jango Fett battles Mace Windu but is killed during the confrontation. Temuera Morrison would continue to act in the franchise in later films, portraying the various clone troopers in Star Wars: Episode III-Revenge of the Sith and voiced over Boba Fett’s lines for the Blu-Ray release of the original Star Wars trilogy. After various rumored attempts to bring the character to the big screen failed, the character and actor were brought back in the second season of The Mandalorian. At the end of the season, it was revealed that the character was getting his own series, titled The Book of Boba Fett.

In a recent interview with Comic Book.com Temuera Morrison spoke at length about the character and what the main differences between Boba Fett and Jango Fett were:

“I just think Boba had lost his dad at a young age. So I think he’s kind of a little bit more venomous and has a simmering kind of violence underneath him and a desire for revenge. Especially for people like Mace Windu so he can take on the respect that his father had. I was little bit better as Boba; I thought to Jango Fett- I wasn’t quite sure what I was doing there, but I was having so much fun. That was back in the year 2000 on Attack of the Clones in Sydney.

But I think it’s the fact that he had to survive on his own a little bit more so and had a few more chips on his shoulders and had been through this solid experience and he’d been taken into a new tribe. And obviously had been alone for a number of years. So finding this family, I guess in terms of the Tusken tribe, opened up new things. But again, in this Book of Boba Fett series, we get the chance to explore a lot of that void that we don’t know about because we didn’t see too much of Boba Fett. It’s given them a wonderful opportunity to open up fresh stories in the Star Wars saga.”

Here is the synopsis for the Star Wars series:

The Book of Boba Fett, a thrilling Star Wars adventure, finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the Galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.

Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Robert Rodriguez, and Kathleen Kennedy are all executive producers on The Mandalorian spin-off with episodes directed by Rodriguez, Favreau, Filoni, and Bryce Dallas Howard. The series stars Temuera Morrison, Ming-Na Wen, and Jennifer Beals.

The series is currently airing on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the series and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
