Candyman director Nia DaCosta is set to direct Brie Larson’s upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel, Captain Marvel 2.
Nia DaCosta has become a well-known name thanks to her work on the upcoming Candyman reboot with Us and Get Out director Jordan Peele. Sadly due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the film has yet to be released. But it seems that Marvel and Disney are looking to tap into her talent as the director is now set to helm Brie Larson’s upcoming Captain Marvel 2.
The first film was directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck and went on to earn well over $1B at the worldwide box office to mostly positive reviews. Early reports, however, seemed to suggest that the two would not be returning for the upcoming sequel. Now it seems that Marvel has already found their replacement in the Candyman director.
