Fans have been keeping a close eye on Captain America: Brave New World. The film is setting a whole new tone for Sam Wilson’s tenure as Captain America, and some are already skeptical given its roster of villains being more gamma-focused than usual. However, it seems Marvel is making a much more grounded film than even the most dedicated fans may have expected.
A permit has leaked regarding the recent round of reshoots for Captain America: Brave New World. As described by ComicBookMovie.com, Marvel’s plan is to film Sam Wilson’s car being forcibly stopped by police using spike traps. A shootout and hand-to-hand confrontation will follow, leading to a police officer being shot and Sam’s car exploding.

It seems as though Captain America: Brave New World will be placing Sam Wilson against the law. This mirrors similar events from The Winter Soldier which saw Steve Rogers hunted down by a S.H.I.E.L.D. corrupted by Hydra. Given fans have been begging for Marvel to return to this tone for years, this permit should excite long-time fans.
This isn’t the first indication that Captain America: Brave New World will be getting dark. The footage shown at CinemaCon revealed Sam Wilson in a confrontation with authorities in Washington D.C., as well as Harrison Ford’s General Ross insisting that the hero isn’t Steve Rogers. Let’s just hope his name gets cleared by the end of the film!
