Could Captain America: Brave New World have been great? A new rumor reveals cut ties between the film’s Serpent Society and Zeke Stane.
If there’s one thing that ties together Captain America: Brave New World and Ironheart, it’s that both movies went through majorly troubled development. The Captain America movie from the rumor mill is leagues different than what ended up on the silver screen, and Ironheart‘s big post-credits scene left Zeke Stane out to dry while setting up a Disney Plus series that has already been cancelled.
Yet it seems there may have been more ties that were cut before fans could see them. The latest rumor from MyTimeToShineHello reveals that the Serpent Society in Captain America: Brave New World was originally meant to be a team of cyborgs created by Zeke Stane. However, given Ironheart was repeatedly pushed back to release after Captain America: Brave New World, the ties were ultimately scrapped.

Zeke Stane’s Cut Role In Captain America: Brave New World
In the final cut of Captain America: Brave New World, Sidewinder played a bit of an underwhelming role in being a simple stooge for The Leader’s plans. If this cut content came to light, it’s likely that Zeke Stane would have been a rather large part of the film, potentially serving as a co-villain with the leader after Ironheart and serving as the point man of the Serpent Society.
This is all, of course, speculation. At this point Captain America: Brave New World is a xerox of a xerox of the project’s original intentions. Without an earlier version of the script, it’s hard to say with any accuracy how Zeke Stane or any other aspect of Ironheart would’ve played into the film. Though regardless of how things would have been executed, the idea of a cybernetic Serpent Society is one awesome one for fans to think about.
