Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel has joined TIME Magazine on its list of the 100 most influential people.
Brie Larson starred as Marvel Studios’ newest superhero Captain Marvel in her solo film earlier this year and garnered a lot of attention. The film gained a following with many trolls aiming to help hurt the film, but Captain Marvel could not be stopped. Captain Marvel exceeded expectations and earned over $1 billion at the box office and has received many great reviews. Brie Larson has exceeded expectations as Captain Marvel and her inspiration does not stop there. Now, with Time magazine adding her on the list of the top 100 most influential people Brie Larson is able to demonstrate how her Captain Marvel character can inspire a lot more people.
Marvel Studios had a different take on their first female-led superhero film by having the character without a romantic partner and ready for battle with all her abilities at hand. Brie Larson earned some criticism prior to the release of Captain Marvel by attempting to address the issue of diversity both in film and the press. This criticism did not stop her from still spreading her message and still does so today.
