Is Marvel Boy coming to the MCU? The rumor mill reveals the franchise’s plans for Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel and her supporting cast.

It’s no secret that Brie Larson has had a rough go in the MCU. While the first Captain Marvel made a billion at the box office, The Marvels was a flop for the studio, largely due to the strikes going on during the film’s release. This combined with consistent online backlash against the heroine left many worrying that Carol Danvers may be left behind altogether.

However, it seems there are still plans to keep Brie Larson as a key actor in the MCU. The most recent rumor to support this comes from Alex Perez at The Cosmic Circus. During the scooper’s most recent Q&A, they teased that Carol Danver’s energy powers may serve as a key plot point in an upcoming Avengers film, potentially trading out her Captain Marvel moniker for her Binary title.

“I know what you mean, and it would be cool to see Carol obtain that power up,” Perez responded when asked about Captain Marvel’s power level in the MCU. “I certainly think there is a possibility here because we know she can absorb a lot of energy.”

“But have you ever stopped to ask how much energy is too much energy? Like, what would happen if Carol came into contact with… say for example, the Time Strands that Loki is holding together? What would happen to her?”

Is Marvel Boy Joining The MCU?

Alex Perez was also asked about the possibility of Brie Larson getting a Captain Marvel 3 even in spite of The Marvels flopping. While there wasn’t much information about a potential sequel, Perez did speak a rumor that Marvel Boy, a key member of the Young Avengers, might join the MCU, which could serve as an interesting plot point for Carol Danvers.

“I don’t really know much about Captain Marvel 3 at the moment, but there is one thing I heard about that could be an interesting story point for Carol.”

“I heard through the grapevine that Marvel was interested in introducing Noh-Varr into the MCU, given that his origins are Multiversal, and he has a role to play with the Young Avengers, but I’m not 100% if that is still in play since it was a while ago.”

Given how little time Marvel has left in their multiverse saga, especially with them scaling back production on MCU projects, it doesn’t seem likely Marvel Boy will be debuting anytime soon. However, he could be an interesting remnant from the saga years down the line if they attempt to broach the story in a potential Captain Marvel sequel down the road.
