Charlie Cox Reveals Why He Didn’t Share More Scenes With Kingpin In ‘Daredevil: Born Again’

Did Daredevil squash the beef?

Is the Kingpin safe in Daredevil: Born Again? Charlie Cox reveals the shocking reason that he doesn’t cross paths with Vincent D’Onofrio in more scenes.

One of the reasons Daredevil: Born Again is so hotly anticipated is the chance to see Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio across from each other once more. The two were a truly dynamic duo in the original Daredevil, and fans were excited to see the Man without Fear face off with the Kingpin of Crime once more. However, according to Cox, it seems that very rivalry is why they don’t share more scenes in the upcoming Disney Plus revival.

“With these characters, you have to always feel like, were they to cross paths, they would fight to the death…” Cox explained in a recent interview with Collider at New York Comic Con. “It would be hugely explosive. So, you have to, in the writing of a show, in the construction of it, you have to limit the amount of time they can be together or you have to give them real reason for them not to be together.”

Netflix fans remember the sheer brutality Daredevil showed Kingpin the last time they met. Given that history, it’s no shock that Daredevil: Born Again decided to keep some distance between Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio during production. If the two met early on in the revival, it might have become the bloodiest Disney Plus show before the opening credits even rolled!

How Kingpin And Daredevil Collide In The MCU

Of course, for as much as the showrunners attempt to keep Vincent D’Onofrio’s iconic character out of trouble, any peace is certain not to hold. Continuing on in the chat, Charlie Cox revealed that Kingpin and Matt Murdock will have a “loose truce” in Daredevil: Born Again. Yet while they agree to stay out of each other’s lane, both parties are constantly questioning if the other is taking things too far in their respective crusades.

Given Daredevil: Born Again was greenlit for two seasons on Disney Plus off the bat, it’s likely this first season is meant to lay the groundwork for the new world that Kingpin and Daredevil find themselves in. So even though Vincent D’Onofrio and Charlie Cox aren’t sharing a lot of scenes in this leg of the revival, it’s certain that the two sworn enemies are on a collision course sooner rather than later.

Daredevil: Born Again will release in March 4, 2025 on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
