Christopher Nolan has given us a few hints as to what to expect from Robert Pattinson’s and Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s roles in Tenet.
Since Tenet‘s first trailer debuted, there has been a lot of speculation as to just what the film is about and why certain things are going in reverse time. The only character who we seem to know anything about is John David Washington’s protagonist who seems to be something of an audience point of view character. However, we know very little about Robert Pattinson and Arron Taylor-Johnson’s roles in the upcoming film, but apparently this was by design.
While speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Christopher Nolan dropped a single, confusing hint regarding the identity of Robert Pattinson’s character and how no one was really sure about them:
“We think he might be called Neil. You never really quite know what’s going on with these identities.”
Later on, he talked a bit about Aaron Taylor-Johnson role in Tenet and says he plays an important role in the film:
“Aaron Taylor-Johnson is indeed in the film. He’s an important part of the film. Yes, there are no photographs of him, this is true. He is briefly glimpsed in the [second] trailer. He’s also completely unrecognizable. There are all kinds of things that happen in terms of where the story goes as the film develops and where it winds up in the later stages that we don’t want to spoil for people.”

Not time travel. Inversion.”
