The first footage from Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut offers fans a look at Darkseid in action.

This morning, Zack Snyder took to his official Twitter page to share a sneak peek at his highly-anticipated Justice League cut, which is coming to the WarnerMedia streaming service HBO Max. The filmmaker shared a brief teaser for the upcoming cut, featuring Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman and Ray Porter’s Darkseid. He also told fans to “get ready for more” at the upcoming DC FanDome event.

You can check out the Justice League teaser featuring Darkseid below.

Darkseid was originally intended to play a larger role in Zack Snyder’s Justice League and subsequent DC Extended Universe. However, after Zack Snyder exited the project, Joss Whedon assumed directorial duties during post-production and oversaw extensive reshoots for Justice League that resulted in Darkseid being removed from the theatrical cut. After Justice League opened to underwhelming reviews and underperformed at the box office gross, Warner Bros. reassessed their plans for future DCEU films and Zack Snyder’s five-film arc involving Darkseid was jettisoned.

Here is the official synopsis for Zack Snyder’s Justice League:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.

Justice League is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Darkseid and the Zack Snyder Cut, and make sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more content.
