James Gunn Teases John Cena’s ‘The Suicide Squad’ Role

The Suicide Squad director James Gunn recently teased John Cena’s role in the highly-anticipated DC Comics movie.

While responding to a fan’s casting suggestions on Twitter, The Suicide Squad director James Gunn teased that people are “gonna freak out on how amazing” John Cena is “as the character” he portrays in the supervillain team-up flick. While Gunn didn’t confirm who that character is, Cena is said to be playing Christopher Smith, a comic book character better known as Peacemaker.

John Cena’s The Suicide Squad role was reportedly originally intended for Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Endgame star Dave Bautista. However, Bautista wasn’t able to team up with Gunn for The Suicide Squad due to scheduling conflicts.
