New photos from the set of The Flash season nine offer fans a first look at the live-action debut of the DC Comics vilalin Cobalt Blue.
Rick Cosnett transforms into Cobalt Blue in the latest photos from the set of the upcoming ninth and final season of The Flash. The photos were shared by Canadgraphs and show Cosnett and his stuntdouble wearing an outfit that is indentical to the comic book look of Cobalt Blue.
Rick Cosnett is one of the returning Arrowverse fan-favorites that are to set to appear in the final season of The Flash, which airs on Wednesday nights on The CW. His character Eddie Thawne has so far made appearances in four seasons of The Flash, but it’s unclear how he ends up becoming Cobalt Blue.
Eddie Thawne was a police detective and the partner of Barry Allen, a.k.a. The Flash. He was initially presented as a bit of a foil to Barry, as he was skeptical of the existence of metahumans and the possibility of a superhero like The Flash. However, as the show progressed, Eddie became an increasingly important part of the narrative, before meeting his end at the hands of Eobard Thawne, a.k.a. the Reverse-Flash.
The final season of The Flash is set to bring closure to the story of one of the most iconic and beloved characters in the Arrowverse. The series, which first premiered in 2014, has been a staple of the CW network and has been widely praised for its action sequences and engaging character arcs along with its witty and heartfelt storytelling.

The official The Flash season nine synopsis reads as follows: “After defeating the Reverse Flash once and for all, the ninth season of THE FLASH picks up one week later following their epic battle, and Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Iris West-Allen (Candice Patton) are reconnecting and growing closer than ever before. But when a deadly group of Rogues descend on Central City led by a powerful new threat, The Flash and his team—Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker), Meta-Empath Cecile Horton (Danielle Nicolet), the light-powered meta Allegra Garcia (Kayla Compton), brilliant tech-nerd Chester P. Runk (Brandon McKnight), and reformed cryogenics thief Mark Blaine (Jon Cor)—must once again defy impossible odds to save the day. But as The Rogues are defeated, a deadly new adversary rises to challenge Barry Allen’s heroic legacy. And in their greatest battle yet, Barry and Team Flash will be pushed to their limits, in order to save Central City one last time.”
The Flash season nine features several core cast members, including Grant Gustin Gustin, Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, Danielle Nicolet, Kayla Compton and Brandon McKnight. The series has also recruited Arrowverse veterans Javicia Leslie and Nicole Maines, though details about their roles are being kept under wraps.
