Comparing ‘Suicide Squad’ To Animated Adventure ‘Assault On Arkham’

Right off the bat there’s a striking resemblance between the two movies, the introduction of the squad itself. While the introductions are slightly different, with Ayer’s Suicide Squad roster introduced by Amanda Waller via a dossier while Arkham‘s is done without explanation, there is a definite stylistic similarity. In both instances, these clearly help establish the tone of the movie as kooky and something different.

The big difference here is that in Suicide Squad we get a lot more depth to the backstories, at least for Deadshot and Harley, due to extended sequences that include dialogue, whereas in Assault on Arkham the sequences are much shorter and contain no dialogue.
