Ironheart made a new cast addition amid rumors that the series features the Marvel Cinematic Universe debut of Mephisto.
Veteran voice actress Cree Summer (A Different World, Atlantis: The Lost Empire) has joined the cast of the upcoming Disney Plus series Ironheart, as reported by Deadline. The trade had no details on Summer’s Ironheart role and Marvel declined to comment on her casting.
In addition to Cree Summer’s Ironheart casting, Deadline also confirms that Sacha Baron Cohen has joined the Disney Plus series. Marvel refused to comment on the actor’s casting, but the site hears that he is set to appear towards the end of the series and has gone through scans for CGI effects, adding credence to the rumors that he’s playing the villainous Marvel character Mephisto.
Created by Marvel legends Stan Lee and John Buscema, Mephisto made his first comic book appearance in The Silver Surfer #3, which was released in December 1968. The character is inspired by the demon Mephistopheles from the Faust legend and is often depicted as Marvel’s version of the Devil. He has previously been played by actors Peter Fonda and Ciaran Hinds.
Who is Marvel’s Ironheart?

Chinaka Hodge is the head writer of the Ironheart series while Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes serve as directors. Hodge is also executive producing the project alongside Ryan Coogler, Zinzi Coogler, Sev Ohanian, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Zoie Nagelhout and Kevin Feige.
