Heroism is a family thing, according to the newest poster for The CW’s Black Lightning, starring Cress Williams.
As to be expected from a superhero show, Black Lightning is giving Cress Williams’ titular superhero yet another new costume to coincide with the new season. It’s a bit obscured by the faces of the rest of the cast, but it’s not difficult to see that the new design that Cress Williams is wearing features several darker colors.

While Black Lightning will not have a dedicated Crisis on Infinite Earths episode, Cress Williams and the rest of the cast are set to appear in the five-part crossover event. It will launch with three episodes in December before concluding with two additional episodes in January.
This synopsis of the season premiere is as follows:
We find Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) like never before, in the hands of the ASA with his wife Lynn (Christine Adams) as Agent Odell (guest star Bill Duke) tightens his grip on the Pierce family, leaving Jennifer (China Ann McClain) abandoned and Freeland without Black Lightning and Thunder. But Anissa (Nafessa Williams) secretly defies Odell in her alter ego as Blackbird with the able tactical and technical support of Gambi (James Remar). Marvin Jones III and Damon Gupton also star. Directed and written by Salim Akil.
Black Lightning is based on the DC character created by Tony Isabella with Trevor Von Eeden. The CW series is executive produced by the Arrowverse’s Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Mara Brock Akil, Salim Akil, Oz Scott, and Pascal Verschooris. It stars Cress Williams as Jefferson Pierce (Black Lightning), China Anne McClain as Jennifer Pierce, Nafessa Williams as Anissa Pierce (Thunder), Christine Adams as Lynn Stewart, Marvin “Krondon” Jones III as Tobias Whale, Damon Gupton as Billy Henderson, and James Remar as Peter Gambi.
Black Lightning will return on Monday, October 7 at 9 PM on The CW. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on Cress Williams and Black Lightning!
