While everyone is excited to see Charlie Cox fly through the sky as Matt Murdock in Daredevil: Born Again, the actual details of the series are being kept pretty tightly under wraps. Perhaps the most interesting part is what role Kingpin plays in the story, and why the characters are coming to blow again after all these years. This is especially emphasized as Wilson Fisk has just graduated to his highest status yet in the MCU, with the villain being recently elected as Mayor of New York.
This query was answered in a recent TV spot. While most of the footage was focused on action, it did include a small clip of Wilson Fisk stating that vigilantes are “not heroes”. This confirms one of the oldest rumors regarding Daredevil: Born Again, which suggested that the Kingpin will use his status as the Mayor of New York to wage a ware against street level heroes like Daredevil and Spider-Man.

Wilson Fisk’s True Plan In Daredevil: Born Again
With this TV spot, along with a few other details from prior trailers, fans have slowly begun to piece together the plot of Daredevil: Born Again. The confirmation of Wilson Fisk’s war against vigilantes comes alongside a few frames revealing the Punisher Copycat storyline will be making its way into the final draft of the series. Given the tone Kingpin is using in his address regarding vigilantes, it’s more than likely the two storylines are connected.
When taken altogether, it seems as though Wilson Fisk is going to wage a public relations campaign against the vigilantes in New York as Mayor. Due to his influence, two parties will start making waves in the world of organized crime: Cops who try to take down vigilantes themselves in the name of The Punisher, and Muse, who will likely be used by Kingpin as the “face” of vigilantism during his crusade. Though given Daredevil: Born Again is only a few weeks away, fans likely won’t have to wait long to find out the truth.
