With Vincent D’Onofrio making his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Hawkeye ahead of his appearance in Daredevil: Born Again, many fans wondered if the Kingpin of Crime would come to blows with any other heroes from the Avengers movies. During a recent panel, D’Onofrio assured fans that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is in his crosshairs.
This news comes from the floor of GalaxyCon. During a panel with Daredevil co-star Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio was asked if he would ever cross paths with Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In response, D’Onofrio told fans “I have a strong feeling, and I’ve said this since I started the Netflix show, that eventually I’m going to kick Spider-Man’s ass.” The full clip of his response can be seen below:
A number of rumors suggest that Kingpin will serve as the main villain for Tom Holland’s fouth Spider-Man film, with the Web-Head forced to team up with Kate Bishop (played by Hailee Steinfeld) and Daredevil (played by Charlie Cox) to take down Wilson Fisk after his mayoral run in Daredevil: Born Again. However, the details are coming from rumor sand speculation, and there is no official confirmation of any of the actors above appearing in the upcoming film, aside from Holland himself.
Due to his wild popularity in the Daredevil film and Netflix show, many fans are unaware that Kingpin actually started out as a Spider-Man villain. The character first appeared in the pages The Amazing Spider-Man #50 in July of 1967 before branching out into other heroes like Daredevil and the Avengers.
What to expect from the new Daredevil series
Little is known of Daredevil: Born Again, with plot details being kept under wraps. Jon Bernthal, Sandrine Holt, Margarita Levieva, Michael Gandolfini, Nikki M. James and Michael Gaston are set to appear in the series opposite Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio. Matt Corman and Chris Ord are writing and executive producing for Marvel.
Unfortunately for fans of Elden Henson’s Foggy Nelson and Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page, it has been confirmed that neither character will be returning for Daredevil: Born Again. The news has been met with disappointment from fans, as both characters played significant roles in the original Netflix series. However, it’s important to remember that the series is still in its early stages, and there’s always a chance that the characters could make a surprise appearance in future seasons.
