Suicide Squad director David Ayer has shared a mysterious piece of concept art that could be related to his original vision for the DC supervillain film.

Over the past few years, there have been many fans focused on getting the Snyder cut of Justice League, but there has slowly been as much of a desire to see David Ayer’s original vision for Suicide Squad as well. Ayer has made it known that the Suicide Squad movie that made it to theaters was not his cut. This is evident in the change of tone from the first trailer that was released at San Diego Comic-Con to the colorful marketing that was released later on.

David Ayer continues to share details every now and then on social media and recently posted what could be concept art from his intended version of Suicide Squad. The tweet features concept art of a bunch of beings surrounded by a blue fire in what looks like an environment that comes from Apokolips or Krypton. However, James Gunn is expected to deliver on the fresh take on the Suicide Squad in his upcoming movie.

Written and directed by James Gunn, The Suicide Squad stars David Dastmalchian, John Cena, Jai Courtney, Joaquín Cosío, Nathan Fillion, Joel Kinnaman, Mayling Ng, Flula Borg, Sean Gunn, Juan Diego Botto, Storm Reid, Pete Davidson, Taika Waititi, Alice Braga, Steve Agee, Tinashe Kajese, Daniela Melchior, Peter Capaldi, Julio Ruiz, Jennifer Holland, Viola Davis, Idris Elba, Margot Robbie, and Michael Rooker.
