It seems the synopsis for Deadpool 3 may have leaked early. The film’s description teases a mercenary in crisis and a fight to preserve the legacy of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.
Deadpool 3 is set to be one of the biggest comic book events ever, bringing back Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine along with some other familiar faces to celebrate the legacy of Fox’s X-Men franchise. However, if the rumored synopsis from Hollywood insider CanWeGetSomeToast is to be believed, Deadpool 3 has a very humble beginning.
“After facing some professional setbacks while going through a midlife crisis. Wade Wilson decides to officially retire Deadpool and becomes a used car salesman. But when his friends, family, and the whole world are at stake, Deadpool decides to bring his katanas out of retirement. He recruits an unwilling and wary Wolverine to not only fight for their survival, but ultimately, their legacy.”
The image of Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson selling certified pre-owned Toyotas is certainly an amusing one to imagine. However, it’s interesting to note that he and Wolverine will specifically be fighting for their legacy, seemingly suggesting the story may have more to say about the state of superhero films than fans may have first thought. Though exactly what this synopsis means likely won’t come to light until the film hits theaters in Summer 2024.

Shawn Levy is directing Deadpool 3 after working with Ryan Reynolds on Free Guy and The Adam Project. The upcoming Marvel Studios project also marks a reunion between Levy and Hugh Jackman as the two worked together on Real Steel.
Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are developing the Deadpool 3 script after penning the first two installments in the series. The Molyneux sisters worked on a previous draft of the project.
